Disclaimer
Last updated: 17 July 2026
DemocracyDNA is an educational tool that helps you explore how your stated values compare with the published positions of Australian political parties. Please read this disclaimer carefully before relying on any part of the site or your report.
1. Not political or voting advice
Nothing on DemocracyDNA is political advice, voting advice, campaigning material, or an endorsement of any party, candidate or policy. Your report is a mathematical similarity score based on the answers you provide — it is not a recommendation on how to vote.
2. Not professional advice
DemocracyDNA does not provide legal, financial, tax, medical, psychological, or any other form of professional advice. If you need advice for a personal decision, please consult a qualified professional.
3. Neutrality and independence
DemocracyDNA is independent. We are not affiliated with, funded by, or authorised by any political party, candidate, lobby group, union, or government body. We do not accept political donations or paid promotion of parties.
4. Accuracy and limitations
We work hard to keep party positions accurate and up to date using published sources (party platforms, media releases, voting records, official policy documents). Even so:
- Party positions change and our data may lag real-world announcements.
- Complex policies are simplified into scored positions and cannot capture every nuance.
- Sources may themselves contain errors, ambiguity, or omissions.
- Your report reflects the specific questions you answered, not every issue that matters to you.
Always check party positions directly with the party before making a voting decision.
5. Use of AI
We use AI to help summarise and map published policy content to our question set. All AI-generated proposals are reviewed by a human before they influence any live party score. See our AI transparency page for details.
6. Your responsibility
You are responsible for how you use your report. To the maximum extent permitted by Australian law, DemocracyDNA is not liable for any loss, damage, or decision made in reliance on the site or your report.
7. Consumer rights
Nothing in this disclaimer excludes rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot lawfully be excluded.
